Oologah Student Dies from Meningitis

OOLOGAH (KFAQ) An Oologah Lower Elementary student has died from bacterial meningitis. Two other students have been taken to the hospital, and health department officials are at the school.
A letter is being sent home with students giving instructions to parents on how to handle the outbreak.
The state Health Department says bacterial meningitis is spread by direct contact with the saliva or body fluids from the nose and throat of an infected person.
Symptoms of meningitis may include fever, rash, headache, stiff neck, nausea, vomiting, and fatigue.
