TULSA (KFAQ) Tulsa's mayor is looking at using sheriff's deputies to help patrol the city. The city already has a contract with the county to run the jail and if economic conditions worsen that contract could be extended.

The sheriff's office enforces state law and new agreement would allow them to enforce city ordinances . Deputies would supplement the work of TPD who recently lost their mounted patrols and helicopters due to budget cuts.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett says he may look at using federal stimulus funds to pay for work done by the sheriff's office for the city.
