Eddie was born to a single German mother and American GI in post World War II Germany. He grew up between 2 worlds, at first in a small German village speaking only German. From this world, at the age of 7, he was transplanted to a completely different world, that of the projects of Philadelphia.

Growing up as an African American child in the 60s Eddie would move back and forth from predominantly black environments to very integrated ones. He has, however, always considered himself a black American and counts it as a supreme privilege to share in this rich history. As a freshman at Texas Tech University he became a black radical/Hippie accepting all of the late 60s early 70s “Leftist” ideology. He was vice president of the Black Student Union at Texas Tech as well as president of the charter chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity there. He marched and protested the Viet Nam War and for Civil rights. It was not until his accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior in El Paso, Texas, one month after his graduation from Tech. that Eddie began to see the world in a new way and begin on a new path with a new vision. This new world view has guided Eddie's life ever since.

Eddie Graduated from Texas Tech in 1973 with a B BA in management. From 1976-1978 Eddie attended Melodyland School of Theology in Anaheim, CA, in their M. Div. program and is a licensed minister. From 1981 to 1992 Eddie with his wife Vickie and 4 children served as missionaries with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). Eddie was director of Musicians for Missions in Amsterdam, Holland from 1981-84, then became director of the Augsburg, Germany YWAM base, leading Discipleship Training Schools and directing a Christian book distribution center providing Christian books and music to the U.S. Military throughout Europe and the Middle East. In addition to these duties Eddie spent extensive time in Uganda, Kenya and South Africa leading teams doing relief work, and teaching for Youth With A Mission bases there. In his service with Youth With A Mission Eddie has spoken before thousands in Europe and Africa, as well as the United States. In 1992 Eddie and family returned to the U.S. Moving to Tulsa. While in Europe Eddie was also the tour manager for many Contemporary Christian Music artists including Petra, WhiteHeart, DC Talk, Margaret Becker, Stryper, BeBe & CeCe Winans, Shirley Caesar, Amy Grant and Sandi Patti.

Eddie is president of the Eddie Huff Insurance Agency, LLC an independent insurance agency in Tulsa. He is also executive director of the Booker T. Washington Inspirational Network, a public speaker and has written hundreds of articles on public policy, socio-political, and spiritual themes.
