Police shoot, kill armed robbery suspect
TULSA (FOX 23) - A man is dead after opening fire on a Tulsa Police officer early Wednesday morning.
It all started when the man started shooting at a police patrol car, knocking out the tire. Both officers in the car are okay. The man then took off running.
Police searched the area around 14th and Garnett. A helicopter was circling the scene. Officers blocked off a square mile between 14th and 21st street to search.
Officers say they felt threatened by the man and opened fire. At the same time, the man turned his own gun on himself. It's unclear which killed him.
Police were also asking everyone who lives in the area to stay inside and lock their doors, until the man was found.
They are now telling people it's ok to move around freely.
