Creek County fires burn 50 homes

Tulsa (FOX 23) - By day two of the Creek County wildfires the winds had switched directions a couple times and jumped from south of Highway 48 to the North side of Highway 43 near Highway 33, forcing more evacuations and causing more homes to burn to the ground.
Firefighters could not control the flames or locate where all their crews were stationed because 200 volunteers came in to help. Even with that much man power it was not enough to contain the fires. They spread fast in Mannford, near Kellyville, Drumright, and Bristow.
“I was worried about my boys,” cries Marta Hyde. Hyde and her husband lost their home and most of their 30 acres of property near Highway 48 and Highway 33.
“It was horrible.”“This is the worst thing that's ever happened,” said Daniel Hyde, Marta’s husband. “Everything that we owned was on this hill.” Their home, a three-bedroom aluminum motor-home melted to the ground and so did their trailer with more of their belongings, like a washer, dryer, and refrigerator.
“Things my kids made growing up, things every parent reassures is gone,” said Marta Hyde. “I just can’t believe this. We are kind of homeless right now.”
The Hydes have a several dogs tht they care for and now they need someone to help care for them until they can get back on their feet.
