Tulsa man accused of starving toddler
TULSA (FOX 23) - Tulsa police say a man is being held on complaints of child neglect. Raymond Wofford, 30, is accused of starving his two-year-old daughter, who weighed only nine pounds when police discovered her at a home on July 31.
According to an arrest report, officers responded to a call about a child home alone. When officers arrived at the home on W. 2nd Street, they looked in a window and saw Wofford passed out on a couch. A child was screaming from a bedroom. That's where officers discovered the frail and malnourished toddler, who was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said they smelled a strong odor of alcohol on Wofford's breath. A three-year-old child was also inside the home, and taken into protective custody.
Wofford was arrested on two complaints of child neglect and one complaint of throwing human waste on a police officer. He's accused of spitting on an officer.
