Attorney reprimanded after alcohol arrests
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - An Oklahoma City attorney who was arrested three times on alcohol-related charges including once when he spit on a police officer has been given a public reprimand by a divided state Supreme Court.
In the 5-4 ruling Tuesday, the court deferred suspending attorney Lewis B. Moon for two years and a day and ordered him to attend Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
In a dissenting opinion, Chief Justice Stephen Taylor and justices Yvonne Kauger, Douglas Combs and Noma Gurich wrote that they would immediately suspend Moon.
Moon did not immediately return a phone call seeking comment.
According to police, Moon's arrests include one in Warr Acres when he allegedly spit on a police officer, claimed to be an Oklahoma County sheriff's deputy and later berated and threatened officers' jobs.
