NORMAN, Okla. (AP) A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled at the University of Oklahoma for the Radar Innovations Lab on OU's research campus.

The lab is to be a 35,000-square-foot facility for faculty, students and university partners with the goal of developing the next-generation radar, microwave electronics and related technologies.

The lab will be both a research and educational center and will provide a hands-on learning environment for OU's engineering and science students.

The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday afternoon east of the National Weather Center on the OU research campus.
