Jury deliberating sentence in OK triple killing
PURCELL, Okla. (AP) Jurors in McClain County will decide whether a man convicted in the killings of an Oklahoma woman and her two young children should face the death penalty.
Jurors deliberated about four hours Monday before convicting Shaun Michael Bosse of three counts of first-degree murder and one count of first-degree arson. The 30-year-old was charged in the 2010 deaths of 25-year-old Katrina Griffin and her children, 8-year-old Christian Griffin and 6-year-old Chasity Hammer.
Jurors recommended a 35-year sentence on the arson charge. On Tuesday, opening statements are set in the penalty phase when the jury will consider a death sentence or life in prison without parole for Bosse.
Bosse's attorney told jurors there was not enough evidence to prove that Bosse was present when the three were killed.
