Vision2 Defeated in Tulsa County
TULSA (KFAQ) - Tulsa County voters have said no to both Vision2 proposals. Proposition 1 failed by a nearly 55 percent margin, while Proposition 2 failed by about a 54 percent margin.
The grassroots effort to defeat the measures was led by a Rhonda Vuillemont Smith who said "we're very excited we were successful in our campaign and are thrilled that citizes got the message."
County Commissioner John Smaligo, who was a co-chairman of the campaign to pass the proposals told a crowd "we feel like we did a very good job of educating the public but are disappointed."
If approved, Vision2 would have extended the existing Vision 2025 sales tax through 2029
