Guthrie police investigate threat at high school
GUTHRIE, Okla. (AP) - Police in Guthrie say a high school student is being questioned after making a threat ``that something was going to happen'' during a school assembly.
Police Chief Damon Devereaux declined Monday to specify the type of threat that was made. He said the student is a minor and is being questioned but had not yet been arrested.
Devereaux said the threat was made Friday and that it is possible it was a ``copycat'' threat after the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Conn., earlier Friday.
Guthrie Superintendent Mike Simpson said the threat was reported by other students and immediately relayed to police. Simpson says the student has been suspended.
