A Timely Idea
Each week I choose a topic that I'm interested in for The Annica Thomas Show. Often I'm exposed to an idea a couple of different times early in the week and that idea becomes the topic for my show that week.
On March 5th I woke up with an idea for my show: to talk about heaven using the song "What's It Going to Be Like" by Jason Ingram. I've loved this song since it came out in 1998. I used to have it on CD but I had that CD stolen and I couldn't find the song anywhere online - youtube, itunes, etc. I finally found the CD on Amazon and quickly ordered it. Because of shipping dates and a good feeling that it should be March 17th's show, I waited to do the show until much closer to the date.
On March 13th Pat Campbell started his show discussing Steven Ray Thacker's execution and said he was offended at Thacker's final statements saying he hopes the family will forgive him and that Jesus forgave him and that he will be with him in heaven. Pat and Eddie discussed whether you can know if you'll go to heaven when you die on The Pat Campbell Show that Wednesday. During a commercial break Pat quipped, "I bet your show on Sunday will be about this." I said, "Well actually it is, I had already decided to do a show with a song that has these lyrics: 'What's it gonna be like when I get there? Who's gonna be there? Will you be?'."
Today on the morning show, Pat said, "Annica got the last word yesterday," and directed people to listen to my podcast on heaven. I'm very cautious to try to never over-spiritualize things but I read a quote the other day that I think applies here: "The instructions from God most often come camouflaged as an idea."
This Sunday and next Pastor Orlando Juarez from The Bridge Church in Bixby will be my guest talking about living your life loved by God.
Thanks for listening to The Annica Thomas Show.
