If you get a call from what appears to be your own phone number, officials are urging you not to answer.
The scam is called spoofing, which involves a call from the customer's number and someone on the other end claiming they are calling to say their account has been flagged for security.
If you do answer, the person may ask for the last four digits of your Social Security number.
The scam has targeted wireless users of both AT&T and Verizon.

FYI… legitimate carriers will never call and ask for personal information.
