GoLife Mobile Medical
GoLife Mobile Medical offers free pregnancy tests, ultrasounds, and pregnancy information through their mobile medical facility.
After a 40 Days for Life Rally Dan Butchee wanted to do more. About 2 years ago, Butchee and several others pursued having a pregnancy help center on wheels. GoLife Mobile Medical non-profit organization was formed in response to the statistic that over 80% of pregnant women who see a clear ultrasound choose life for their child. GoLife converted an RV to use with several donated ultrasound machines. They operate on an all volunteer staff and will have 4 more nurses by the end of February 2013. One volunteer staff member works to choose locations and 3 people are on board at all times: the driver, the care assist (who does intake), and the sonographer (RN). Locations include college campuses, churches, shopping center parking lots, land across the street from an abortion clinic (owned by Catholic Diocese), and other sites in West Tulsa, North Tulsa and Broken Arrow.
Not only does GoLife Mobile Medical give ultrasounds to women, but they're also committed to provide support to them as well. President Dan Butchee wants people to know that they are available to provide their services to the public, “We decided at GoLife that we wouldn’t just bring the women on board and show them this ultrasound, we would commit to them a legacy of support.” Their website, GoLifeMobileMedical.com, offers information on their organization and references to many other helpful resources in the Tulsa metropolitan area.
GoLife Mobile Medical is looking for compassionate people who want to get involved. Some areas that people can help in are: intake as a care assist (training for this position only takes 2-3 weeks), and people who'd like to give tours of their mobile facility. Any churches who would like to facilitate tours of their RV can call Executive Director Kathy Jackson at 918-346-5529.
