All-in already: Chiefs gamble on quick turnaround
ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) - John Dorsey is finally getting a chance to see the fruits of his labor for real.
After a long offseason, the new general manager of the Kansas City Chiefs is getting to see the team he assembled on the field this weekend for the official start of training camp.
Dorsey and new coach Andy Reid were aggressive in overhauling a roster that went 2-14 last season, even taking some calculated risks along the way. They hope each of the moves pays off in a turnaround not unlike the one the Indianapolis Colts orchestrated last season.
The Colts went from a two-win team to the playoffs in 2012.
The Chiefs are holding training camp on the campus of Missouri Western State University. Their first preseason game is Aug. 9 at New Orleans.
